AI Chat


Zefort - AI chat buttonThe AI Chat feature allows you to ask questions about your contracts and get direct answers with quotations from the source document. You can ask questions regarding the contract, create summaries or translations, ask for explanations for selected text, and so on.

This guide explains how to use AI Chat and manage user access.

Ask AI Chat about a contract

  1. Open the contract and click the AI Chat button
  2. In the “find answers in” dropdown, select files to be included in the query
  3. Type your question in the field or select a ready-made question from the options above

  • As a result you will see AI Chat’s response for each document included in the query.
  • The response might include a quotation from the source document. By clicking it, the text will be highlighted in green in the document preview.
  • To use the AI Chat answer as metadata, simply click “extract as metadata…“
  • If you want to adjust in the original enquiry, click the Edit button to make changes.
  • You can continue the chat by clicking + ask new question

  1. Highlight text in the contract preview window; an options button will appear.
  2. Open options button and click “Explain selected text“
  3. AI Chat dialog opens, and the query is run automatically

Switching on AI Chat (for admins)

Enabling AI Chat feature for your account

AI Chat is an add-on feature. If it’s not currently enabled for your account, please contact our sales team for more information.

Granting AI Chat access to a user

If your account has has AI Chat enabled, you can give specific users permission to use it.

  1. Open the selected user’s profile
  2. Check the box for the permission “Can use AI Chat“
  3. Click Save

Limitations of the AI Chat feature

AI Chat is a machine learning model and its responses are generated based on patterns and examples in the training data. While the tool strives to provide accurate and helpful responses, it may not always be correct or suitable for every situation: for example in certain sensitive or critical applications where accuracy and reliability are of utmost importance, the utilization of AI Chat answers must include proper evaluation, testing and risk assessment.

There are some ways you can assess the reliability of the answers – please refer to our blog post on how to evaluate and trust the answers provided by ChatGPT.

Please also note that AI Chat analysis might be limited to a part of the contract if the document is really long. If this happens, you will get a notification.
